Instrument Panel Inflatable Restraint Module Replacement

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Pontiac G8. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
IMPORTANT: Due to the clipping design of the passenger air bag (PAB) module it is extremely difficult to remove from the plastic cradle which is vibration welded to the underside of the Instrument Panel (IP) pad and the metal clips of the PAB would most likely be bent in removing from a pad assembly. This may result in the air bag being deployed incorrectly in an accident should it be re-used with the new IP pad assembly. If replacing the PAB for any reason you must  also replace the IP pad assembly.
