Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the wiring harness connectors (2) to the corresponding colors on the inflatable restraint steering wheel module.
  2. Connect the black earth connector on the bottom of the steering wheel inflatable restraint assembly.
  3. Align the steering wheel module firmly into the steering wheel assembly applying even pressure to the module until you hear a click.
  4. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  5. After replacing the module, deploy the old module before disposal. If the module replaced under warranty, fully deploy and dispose of the module after the required retention period. Refer to Inflator Module Handling and Scrapping .
  6. If re-programming is required. Refer to Control Module References .
