Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Identifying SIR Coil Assembly To Steering Column Retaining Screws

  1. Install the SIR coil assembly to steering column retaining screws (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 1 N.m (9 lb in).

  2. Connect the SIR coil assembly connectors, (1) to (2).
  3. Install the wipers/washer switch. Refer to Windshield Wiper and Washer Switch Replacement .
  4. Install the cruise control switch. Refer to Turn Signal Switch Replacement .
  5. Remove the SIR coil assembly securing tape.
  6. Install the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement .
  7. Install the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Replacement .
  8. Install the inflatable restraint steering wheel module to the steering wheel. Refer to Steering Wheel Inflatable Restraint Module Replacement .
  9. Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  10. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  11. Calibrate the steering angle sensor. Refer to Steering Angle Sensor Centering .
