Electronic Brake Control Module Replacement (Without JL4)

CAUTION: Always connect or disconnect the wiring harness connector from the EBCM/EBTCM with the ignition switch in the OFF position. Failure to observe this precaution could result in damage to the EBCM/EBTCM. Preliminary Procedures Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position. Remove the cover from the engine control module (ECM) and transmission control module (TCM). Clean the electronic brake control module (EBCM) to brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) area of any accumulated dirt and foreign material.
1	Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM) Electrical Connector Procedure: Lift the EBCM slide lock tabs on top of the electrical connector to release the connector from the module.
2	EBCM to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV) Retaining Bolt (Qty: 3) CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Tighten: 2.3 N.m (20 lb in)
3	Electronic Brake Control Module Procedure Separate the EBCM from the BPMV by carefully pulling apart. Do not pry apart. Clean the sealing surface of the BPMV with denatured alcohol and a clean shop cloth. If installing a new EBCM, program the EBCM. Refer to Electronic Brake Control Module Programming and Setup . Refer to Control Module References for programming and setup information.
4	EBCM O-Ring Seal (Qty: 8) Procedure: If installing a new EBCM, install new O-ring seals.
