Removal Procedure

    WARNING: Refer to SIR Warning .
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  2. Remove the right knee bolster bracket. Refer to Passenger Knee Bolster Bracket Replacement .
  3. Remove the instrument panel trim pad. Refer to Instrument Panel Trim Pad Replacement .
  4. Remove the body control module. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement .
  5. Disconnect the instrument panel inflatable restraint module electrical connector.

  7. Remove the upper bolts (3) from the instrument panel inflatable restraint module (1).
  8. Remove the lower bolts (2) from the instrument panel inflatable restraint module (1).
  9. Remove the instrument panel inflatable restraint module (1).
  10. Ensure that the instrument panel inflatable restraint module is fully deployed before disposal. If the module was replaced under warranty, fully deploy and dispose of the module after the required retention period. Refer to Inflator Module Handling and Scrapping .
