Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the air cleaner cap sub-assembly with hose.




4. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector (1).




5. Remove the engine coolant temperature sensor (1).

Installation Procedure





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution)

1. Install the engine coolant temperature sensor (1) through a new gasket and tighten to 20Nm (14 lb ft).




2. Connect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector (1).
3. Add engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Service and Repair).
4. Inspect for a coolant leak.
5. Install the air cleaner cap sub-assembly with hose.
6. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement (Service and Repair).
