Connecting Tester

NOTE: All test procedures will correspond with numbers on the Bosch ABS Tester.
  1. Turn off ignition and pull off multiple pin plug (35-pin) on electronic control unit. Control unit remains installed. Connect multiple pin plug of electronic control unit with plug of tester.
  2. Connect tester to electronic control unit. Turn ignition on. Ensure all other electric equipment is off. NEVER operate vehicle with tester connected.
  3. Always perform all tests beginning with PROGRAM SWITCH POSITION 1. PROGRAM SWITCH POSITIONS 23 and 24 must be performed prior to PROGRAM SWITCH POSITIONS 20, 21 and 22.
  4. A brake test stand (chassis dyno) is required for PROGRAM SWITCH POSITIONS 20 through 23. Brake test stand rollers and vehicle tires must be dry during test. Selector lever of vehicle equipped with automatic transmission must not be in "P" position while testing rear axle.
  5. Never use a brake pedal winch to adjust braking force. Wait at least 20 seconds before repeating tests or changing channels.
