Diode In Flow Direction (ABS Indicator Lamp Not On)

  1. The ABS indicator should be on and digital display should read 1.5 volts. If test is okay, go to PROGRAM SWITCH POSITION 15  . If not, go to step 2).
  2. If ABS indicator light is not on, check indicator light for burnout. Replace indicator light (if necessary). Go to step 3).
  3. Turn ignition off. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity of diode between terminals No. 29 and 32 on disconnected control unit plug. Display must have high resistance once and then read low ohm resistance. Go to step 4).
  4. Pull off multiple pin plug on right side of instrument cluster. Check wires between terminals No. 29 and 32 for opens. Repair or replace wiring as necessary.
