Speed Sensor Signal

  1. Place vehicle on braking test stand (chassis dyno), front and rear wheels respectively. Switch in brake rollers of test stand separately for front and rear wheels. Separate speed sensors are selected by depressing "VR", "VL", "HL" and "HR" buttons.
  2. Digital display should be 1.5. Check clearance. Use smallest value if display fluctuates. A digital display "999" means speed of test stand is too fast. If digital display between 0-1.5 is on, check the following and repair if necessary:
    • Speed sensors installed on incorrect wheel (check arrangement). Speed sensor must correspond to specified wheel and control unit inlet.
    • Clearance between speed sensor and gear ring excessive. Check for proper installation.
    • Check bearing play of front wheels.
    • Check speed sensor.
NOTE: Go to PROGRAM SWITCH POSITIONS 20, 21 & 22 only after performing PROGRAM SWITCH POSITION 23  .
