DME Control Unit

A 55-pin DME control unit monitors and controls all engine management functions. See Fig 1 . The DME control unit is located under driver seat. The DME control unit has the ability to store fault codes related to fuel injection and ignition system. Detected faults remain stored for at least 50 engine starts.

Control unit coding distinctions are only made between manual and automatic transmissions. The state (California) coding feature has been deleted. The modified control unit also has the ability to activate malfunction indicator (CHECK ENGINE) light.
