Code 41, Front-Rear Differential Lock Valve

  1. Turn ignition off. Unplug connector from ABS/AWD control unit. Check continuity between pins No. 18 and 23 and between pins No. 17 and 18. See Figure . If necessary, unplug valve block assembly to help isolate open circuit.
  2. Remove ABS valve relay from ABS hydraulic control unit. See Figure . Check for an open circuit or short circuit to battery voltage in wiring harness by testing circuit at pin No. 18 of ABS/AWD control unit.
  3. Measure resistance of front-rear locking valve between pins No. 2 and 4 on valve block assembly. See Figure . If resistance is not 2-4 ohms, replace valve block assembly.
  4. Reconnect all disconnected components. Push back protective cap at valve block assembly connector. Turn ignition off, then back on. Ensure voltage is present at pin No. 1 and 2 (ABS valve relay energized). If no voltage is present, perform Code 34 tests. If voltage is present, replace ABS/AWD control unit.
