Code 45, Full-Lock (Traction Control) Button
NOTE:
Code 45 may set if traction control button is held down (engage locks mode) for more than 10 seconds.
- Determine if an actual operating error has occurred. To do so, select MENU 3 (switch inputs) of Porsche System Tester (9288). With traction control button in central position, display should be OPEN.
- With traction control button turned to right and held, display should be ON. With traction control button turned to left and held, display should be OFF.
- If a genuine fault has occurred, disconnect traction control button. With button turned to right and held, check button continuity between pins No. 1 and 3. See Fig 1 . With button turned to left and held, check button continuity between pins No. 1 and 5. Replace button if necessary.
- Ensure battery voltage is present at pin No. 3 of button wiring harness connector. Ensure pin No. 5 of button wiring harness connector has continuity to ground. Repair circuits as necessary.
- Check wiring between pin No. 28 of ABS/AWD control unit wiring harness and pin No. 1 of button wiring harness connector for a short circuit to ground or battery voltage. This circuit must not be shorted. Repair circuit as necessary.
