Code 45, Full-Lock (Traction Control) Button

NOTE: Code 45 may set if traction control button is held down (engage locks mode) for more than 10 seconds.
  1. Determine if an actual operating error has occurred. To do so, select MENU 3 (switch inputs) of Porsche System Tester (9288). With traction control button in central position, display should be OPEN.
  2. With traction control button turned to right and held, display should be ON. With traction control button turned to left and held, display should be OFF.
  3. If a genuine fault has occurred, disconnect traction control button. With button turned to right and held, check button continuity between pins No. 1 and 3. See Fig 1 . With button turned to left and held, check button continuity between pins No. 1 and 5. Replace button if necessary.
  4. Ensure battery voltage is present at pin No. 3 of button wiring harness connector. Ensure pin No. 5 of button wiring harness connector has continuity to ground. Repair circuits as necessary.
  5. Check wiring between pin No. 28 of ABS/AWD control unit wiring harness and pin No. 1 of button wiring harness connector for a short circuit to ground or battery voltage. This circuit must not be shorted. Repair circuit as necessary.
