Resetting adaption values

After a repair or replacement of the transmission, the control module must "learn" the new transmission characteristics (adaption process). In order to begin with a defined basic value, it is possible to delete the existing adaption values with this menu item.

Resetting the adaption values deletes all transmission-specific adaptations. This can lead to very uncomfortable shifting until the adaption process has been completed once again.

Procedure:

  1. Using the Porsche System Tester II No. 9588, select menu item 'Reset adaption values'.
  2. Specify whether the adaption values are to be reset or not using the appropriate key ([Yes] /[No]), and use the [>>] key to confirm the selection.
  3. Wait until 'Adaption values have been reset' is displayed.
  4. End process with the [<<] key.
