8, Operating solenoid, R/P block: Notes

Faults are recognised in the wiring, the output stage and the solenoid itself.

• In order to prevent the selector lever from being moved (shiftlock), the Tiptronic control module connects ground to output B4 if all of the conditions below are satisfied at the same time: 
• The ignition is switched on or the engine is running 
• The selector lever is in position P or N 
• The brake is not applied 
• If one of the above conditions is not met, the selector lever will not be blocked.
