TPMS Reminder Reset - Procedure 02: Notes
NOTE:
If tires have been rotated, tire pressure changed, or a tire pressure sensor or wheel has been replaced, the TPM system must be reset. See Tire Pressure Monitor System Reset . When vehicle is stationary after a tire pressure warning, the display changes to "SELECTION AFTER WARNING" screen. See "Selection After Warning" Reset .
CAUTION:
1st generation TPM wheel electronics are not compatible with 2nd generation TPM wheel electronics. 1st generation is up to
2008, and 2nd generation is 2009 and beyond.
If wheels with wheel electronics from the 1st TPM generation are mounted on a vehicle with a 2nd generation TPM system (or vice versa), the wheel electronics will not be recognized by the TPM system. The TPM system is not active and a corresponding warning is displayed in the multi-function display of the instrument cluster. The wheel electronics will also be stored as defective in the fault memory of the TPM control unit.
Wheel electronics unit (sensor) part numbers are:
- 2005-07: 997.606.021.00 (433 MHz)
- 2008: 997.606.021.01 (433 MHz)
- 2009-: 997.606.021.20 (433 MHz)
If tire pressures have been adjusted, without being prompted by a TPMS warning indicator, no reset procedure is required. If tire pressures have been adjusted after a TPMS warning indicator display, see "Selection After Warning" Reset .
