Follow Mode
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2018 Land Rover Discovery and 2017 Land Rover Discovery. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
A set speed is selected and this speed is maintained until a slower vehicle is encountered in the lane ahead. When the vehicle ahead comes within the effective range of the Adaptive Speed Control Module (ASCM) radar, the system identifies it as a target vehicle. When the distance between the 2 vehicles closes to the set time gap, the adaptive speed control system reduces the vehicle speed. The adaptive speed control system applies the brakes to maintain the set time gap when it is necessary.
To indicate that the system is in follow mode:
- The follow mode warning indicator illuminates in the Instrument Cluster (IC).
- The current time gap setting is displayed in the message center.
