Bleeding Brake System

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1992 Saab 9000 and 1992 Saab 900. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: ALWAYS use DOT 4 brake fluid. DO NOT  use DOT 5 brake fluid. Front wheels MUST be bled first.
  1. Fill brake fluid reservoir. Bleed left front wheel, then right front wheel.
  2. Press brake pedal approximately 20 times to depressurize brake system. Connect bleed hose to left rear wheel. With brake pedal pressed, turn ignition on to activate electric hydraulic pump. When brake fluid from left rear wheel contains no air, tighten bleeder valve. Turn ignition off. Depressurize brake system and bleed right rear wheel using same procedure.
