Detonation Sensor (Ignition & APC System)

Located on engine block, below intake manifold, detonation sensor converts knocking vibration into an electrical signal. Signal is transmitted to ECU (ignition and APC units) where it is compared against stored information. Ignition ECU readajusts the timing to eliminate detonation. APC unit adjusts turbo boost pressure through APC solenoid valve to eliminate detonation.
