Hall Effect Sensor

Sensor consists of a semiconductor element and magnet. Magnet acts on semiconductor to create a magnetic field. A slotted rotor alternately interrupts magnetic field. Pulse from sensor is amplified and sent to ignition coil where it is used as tachometer (RPM) signal and monitored by the ECU.
