Removal & Installation

  1. Relieve fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE  . Remove floor panel in trunk. Unplug wiring connector, remove hose clamps and disconnect fuel lines.
  2. Tie fuel lines aside. Place special tool No. 8394397 on fuel pump to hold pump while unscrewing retaining nut. Remove retaining nut.
    CAUTION: Since fuel pump may spring out upon removal, use a safety chain or similar device.
  3. Lift fuel pump out of tank. To install, lubricate fuel pump O-ring with petroleum jelly. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
