Transmission Range Switch
- Connect ISAT Scan tester according to manufacturer's instructions. Diagnostic connector is under right front seat, protected by a plastic cover. Turn ignition on. Enter command code 203. With transmission lever in Park or Neutral position, tester should display 8B003. Tester should display 8B103 in all other positions. If not, check fuse No. 13 on 900 Series, or fuse No. 9 on 9000 Series.
- With ignition on, check for battery voltage at White wire at switch, located at base of transmission selector lever. If no voltage, repair White wire back to fuse panel.
- Set transmission selector lever in turn to Park and Neutral positions. With ignition on, check that no voltage appears at Orange wire on switch with lever in either position. With lever in all other positions, battery voltage should appear at Orange wire. Replace switch if it does not meet specifications.
- Connect DVOM to pin No. 30 (Orange wire) at fuel injection ECU. Battery voltage should appear with switch in all positions but Park or Neutral. Repair Orange wire between switch and ECU if voltage does not appear.
