Fuel Pump

  1. Relieve fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE  . Remove floor panel in trunk. Unplug wiring connector. Remove hose clamps. Disconnect fuel lines.
  2. Tie fuel lines aside. Use Pump Holder (8394397) on fuel pump to hold pump in place while unscrewing the retaining nut. Remove retaining nut.
    CAUTION: Since fuel pump may spring out upon removal, use a safety chain or similar device.
  3. Lift fuel pump from tank. To install, lubricate fuel pump "O" ring with petroleum jelly. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
