BACKGROUND
A new computerized system (TIS 2000) is now being supplied on the WIS CID. See SI 101-2040. One of the functions of t his new system is that Tech 2 can now be used for reprogramming various control modules. At this time, Trionic T7 and ACC for the 9-5 can be reprogrammed.
IMPORTANT: Make certain you have carefully reviewed the TIS Manual issued with this tool. Electronic control modules can be rendered useless if proper procedures are not followed.
To perform this programming, a service programming system (SPS) hardware key which connects to Tech 2 is required. See Fig 1 . An authorized hardware key must be connected to an open serial port before any software is downloaded to an ECM.
IMPORTANT: Damaged or stolen hardware keys must be reported to Kent-Moore in order to purchase a replacement. Your hardware key is tied by serial number to your dealership and must not be used by unauthorized personnel. To report a stolen or damaged key, contact Kent-Moore at 1-800-345-2233 and ask to speak with a Technical Service Representative.
