Bus Communication: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Saab 9-3. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The identification code from the car key transponder is received at pin 39 of the TWICE control module via the antenna unit and verified by TWICE.

If the code is approved by TWICE, a code is sent via the MIU to the engine management system. This must be approved by the engine management system before or when the car is started, otherwise the engine is turned off.

IMPORTANT: TWICE, MIU and the engine management system must be programmed together. If any system is changed, reprogramming is required.
