BACKGROUND

Our ambition has been to provide several model years with 86 12 764 Break Out cable, airbag control module (ACM). This is not always possible with the current connector coding.

SYMPTOM DESCRIPTION

The 30-pin connector on 86 12 764 Break Out cable, airbag control module (ACM) cannot be connected to the car's wiring harness.

PARTS REQUIRED

Drill
Drill bit 2.5 mm
Vice

PROCEDURE

Carefully secure the 30-pin connector in a vice.

Fig 1: Removing Connector Coding With Drill

Remove the coding with the drill down to the bottom of the connector.
NOTE: Be careful not to damage any connector pins.

Remove the burrs. There will be a hole in the side of the connector after modification.
