The CD player is activated with the CD button on the main unit if a disc is already in the slot, or by inserting a disc into the slot. If a disc is left in the CD player and another source is selected, the CD player will automatically reactivate after ten seconds.

Information is sent to the bus when the CD player is active. SID reads the information on the bus and shows the current setting on the display.
