TPMS Reset Procedures: Notes

NOTE: Each time the vehicle is driven at a speed 13 mph (20 km/h) or more, the TPM module goes through automatic programming to learn which TPMS sensor corresponds to which tire. See TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR LEARN . When the TPM module or TPMS sensor is replaced or the tire dimensions change, the TPM module must be calibrated using a Tech2. See TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR PROGRAMMING .

When the tire pressure warning light illuminates and warning message appears, immediately check air pressure of all tires and adjust to the specified pressure. Drive vehicle above 13 mph (20 km/h) for a few minutes. Ensure warning indicators go out.

NOTE: When the tire is filled with air, the pressure must reach the minimum specified pressure for it to be possible to reset the error message. If the air is filled to the right level within 15 minutes of the key being switched to the LOCK position (or removed), no error message is shown upon start. If the car is started after the end of the standby mode, the error message remains until driven and the system has detected that tire pressure lies above the limit value.
