Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

TPS Attachment To Throttle Body. (TBI Engines):







REMOVAL


1. Remove TPS attachment screws and TPS assembly.


INSTALLATION

1. With throttle body valve closed, install TPS on throttle shaft. Rotate counterclockwise to align mounting holes.

2. Install TPS attachment screws.
^ Torque: 2 Nm (18 in lbs)

CAUTION: The TPS is an electrical component, and must not be soaked in any liquid solvent; otherwise damage may result.

NOTE: The TPS is not adjustable. Turning the ignition "OFF" and "ON" will reset the TPS value. Closed throttle voltage limits are 0.35 volt to 0.70 volts.
