Speedometer Module: Testing and Inspection
SPEEDOMETERFollow diagnostics on the following pages.
If the speedometer is completely inoperative the internal power supply of the cluster can be checked.
^ Key in the RUN position, engine Off and all of the cluster connectors connected.
^ Measure the voltage between pins J to K of the black 18-way cluster connector. Voltage should be greater than or equal to 7.0 volts.
^ If voltage Ok, proceed with charts on following pages.
^ If the voltage is less than 7.0 volts, refer to the "Instrument Cluster Internal Resistance Checks" to determine which cluster component to replace.
