  2. Connect jumper wire between Data Link Connector (DLC) terminals No. 8 (program circuit) and No. 4 (ground). See Figure . Count number of horn chirps. Number of horn chirps will correspond to what mode RKE module is in. See ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM MODE CHART. Mode 3 and 11 disable anti-theft system. Mode one is a default. If horn chirps do not correspond to correct mode, reprogram transmitters and go to next step. See TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING under PROGRAMMING. 3. Check if dome light flashed after 10 seconds. If dome light flashes after 10 seconds, system is okay at this time. If dome light does not flash after 10 seconds, disarm anti-theft system. Ensure dome light switch is in DOOR position and doors are closed. Did dome light illuminate. If dome light illuminates, check for short in wiring harness between dome light and door jamb switches. See appropriate wiring diagram in ILLUMINATION/INTERIOR LIGHTS article. If dome light did not illuminate, continue with testing by symptom. See SYMPTOM TESTS.
  4. Rearm system and repeat test procedure from step 1) for all other doors. Horn should sound and dome light should flash. If all functions operate as specified, go to next step. If all functions do not operate as specified, check door jamb circuit of suspect door.
  5. Rearm system. Reach in open window and turn ignition switch to START position. If alarm activates, go to next step. If alarm does not activate, continue with testing by symptom. See SYMPTOM TESTS.
  6. If engine cranks, continue with testing by symptom. See SYMPTOM TESTS. If engine does not crank, system is okay at this time.
