Service Information Regarding a Design Change to Stop Lamp Switch and I/P Harness
MODELS AFFECTED:
2000 Saturn L-Series vehicles built after and including VIN YY698906
PURPOSE:
A design change was made during the 2000 model year to the stop lamp switch and instrument panel I/P harness. The new stop lamp switch part number is 90508804 which is also used for the cruise brake switch and are interchangeable.
NOTICE:
Do not attempt to modify the I/P harness in any 2000 L-Series vehicle to incorporate either 1st Design (P/N 90504499) or 2nd Design (P/N 90508804) in a vehicle that was not originally equipped with it from the manufacturer.
For replacement and adjustment of the stop lamp switch refer to "Stop Lamp Switch" and "Stop Lamp Switch Adjustment" procedures in the Mechanical Brakes section of the 2000/2001 Brakes Service Manual.
