Intermediate-4TH Servo Assembly: Installation

    CAUTION: Hand start and tighten servo cover bolts evenly to prevent damage to servo cover bore.
  1. Install servo return spring into transaxle case. Install servo cover and piston assembly over servo return spring. Hand start and install servo cover bolts. Tighten servo cover bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install new filter neck seal into transaxle case. A large socket can be used as an installation tool or 2 mallets can be used as well. See Figure.
  2. CAUTION: Push straight up on center of valve to prevent damage to case bore.
  3. Coat filter O-ring with a small amount of petroleum jelly, and install filter into case. Install oil level control valve. Install oil pan. See TRANSAXLE OIL PAN .
  4. Lower vehicle. Remove clamp from A.I.R. hose behind cooling fan. Separate A.I.R. tube from hose and push tube back toward transaxle. See Figure. Note original position of A.I.R. components. Add DEXRON-III ATF to specified refill capacity. See FLUID CAPACITIES  under LUBRICATION.
  5. Start engine, warm up transaxle, and check for leaks. Check fluid level. See CHECKING FLUID LEVELS  under LUBRICATION.
