Left Power Door Lock Inoperative

- If power door systems diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If power door systems diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to POWER DOOR SYSTEMS DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS.
- Check for mechanical binding or obstructions at door latch, lock rods or door lock mechanism and repair as necessary. If no mechanical binding or obstructions are found, go to next step. If any mechanical binding or obstructions are found and repaired, go to step 14 .
- Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC) located under steering column. Select LDCM DISPLAY DTC function on scan tool. If DTCs B2236, B2238 or B2276 are stored as history, go to POWER DOOR LOCK DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If DTCs B2236, B2238 or B2276 are not stored as history, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, command Left Door Control Module (LDCM) to lock and unlock left door. If left door does not lock and unlock, go to next step. If left door locks and unlocks, go to step 6 .
- Turn ignition off. Remove driver's door panel. Disconnect left door lock actuator connector located as part of door latch assembly. Turn ignition on. Connect test light between terminals "A" and "B" of door lock actuator connector. Using scan tool, command LDCM to lock and unlock left door. If test light comes on and turns off with each command, go to step 11 . If test light does not come on and turn off with each command, go to step 8 .
- Using scan tool, monitor DOOR LOCK SWITCH status. Press door lock/unlock switch to LOCK position. If DOOR LOCK SWITCH status changes with switch activation, go to next step. If DOOR LOCK SWITCH status does not change, go to step 9 .
- Using scan tool, monitor LDCM door UNLOCK switch status. Press door lock/unlock switch to UNLOCK position. If DOOR LOCK SWITCH status changes with switch activation, go to step 12 . If DOOR LOCK SWITCH status does not change, go to step 10 .
- Check for open in Gray or Tan wires between LDCM and left door lock actuator. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If faulty circuit is found and repaired, go to step 14 . If circuit is okay, go to step 12 .
- Check for open in Black or Red/Black wires between LDCM and left door lock/unlock switch. If faulty circuit is found and repaired, go to step 14 . If circuit is okay, go to step 13 .
- Check for open in Orange/Black wire between LDCM and left door lock/unlock switch. If faulty circuit is found and repaired, go to step 14 . If circuit is okay, go to step 13 .
- Replace left door lock actuator. See DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to step 14 .
- Replace left door control module. See DOOR CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to step 14 .
- Replace left door lock/unlock switch. See DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to next step.
- Recheck system operation. If system operates properly, repair is complete. If system does not operate properly, go to step 2 .
