WARNING: Vehicles are equipped with air bag supplemental restraint system. Before attempting ANY repairs involving steering column, instrument panel or related components, see SERVICE PRECAUTIONS and DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article.

Front wiper motor/control module (also referred to as wiper module) contains a 2-speed wiper motor and a microprocessor. Front wiper motor/control module receives power from WIPER fuse (25-amp), located in Instrument Panel Fuse Block (IPFB). See Figure. The microprocessor controls power supply to the washer pump and wiper motor. This is a depressed-park system (wipers park below the bottom of windshield). Front wiper switch (multifunction switch) controls LOW, HIGH, INTERMITTENT, MIST, OFF and WASH modes.

Rear wiper/washer system is available on station wagon models. Power is provided to wiper motor through window relay and SUN fuse (15-amp), located in Instrument Panel Fuse Block (IPFB). System operation is controlled by a rotary switch located on multifunction switch lever. Washer fluid reservoir and pump are mounted in right rear wheelwell trim panel. Rear wiper switch controls OFF, ON and WASH modes.
