Installation Procedure

- Position the ABS control assembly into the bracket and tighten the nuts.
Tighten: Tighten the ABS control assembly-to-bracket nuts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
- Position the brake pipes into the master cylinder and tighten the brake pipe nuts.
Tighten: Tighten the brake pipes-to-master cylinder to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).
- Position the brake pipes into the ABS control assembly and tighten the brake pipe nuts.
Tighten: Tighten the brake pipes-to-master cylinder to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).
- Install the electrical connector to the ABS control assembly.
- Install the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Battery.
- Fill the brake fluid reservoir with clean brake fluid up to the "MAX" mark on the reservoir.
- Bleed the brakes. Refer to MANUAL BLEEDING or PRESSURE BLEEDING in Disc & Drum in Brakes.

IMPORTANT:
Ensure that all the electrical connections are fully seated and the latches are engaged.
IMPORTANT:
If the EBCM was replaced, make sure to program the correct engine and transaxle options in the EBCM. Refer to option bit configuration with scan tools.
IMPORTANT:
It is not required or recommended to bleed the ABS controller. Automated bleeding of the ABS controller may induce air into the system.
