Removal & Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Sunfire and 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. CNG fuel module assembly is located below Gas Distribution Adapter (GDA). See Figure. Release fuel system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE (CNG) . Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove throttle cables from retaining clip.
  2. Remove the bolts mounting the GDA bracket to the CNG fuel module assembly bracket. Loosen the GDA clamp at the throttle body. Loosen the clamp at the Gas Mass Sensor/Mixture Control Valve (GMS/MCV) hose. Loosen the clamp at the intake duct and disconnect the duct. Disconnect the PCV hose. Remove the GDA as an assembly.
  3. Disconnect the fuel inlet line from the Low Pressure Lock-Off (LPL) solenoid. Disconnect wiring harness connectors. Remove CNG fuel module assembly bracket nuts and bolts. Remove CNG fuel module assembly. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten all fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Start the engine. Using Ultrasonic Leak Detector (J 41416), check for CNG fuel leaks at each serviced fitting.
