Oil Pump (Unit Repair) Assembly - L61

1. Install pressure relief valve and pressure relief valve spring.
2. Install oil pump pressure relief valve plug.

   Torque: 

   Oil Pump Pressure Relief Valve Plug L61: 40 N.m (30 ft-lbs) 

3. Lubricate drive and driven rotors with clean engine oil.

   IMPORTANT:  Align marks on drive and driven rotors.

4. Install drive and driven rotors into pump body.
5. Fill oil pump with petroleum jelly to prim oil pump.

   NOTE: Fill the oil pump cavities with petroleum jelly prior to installation. This will ensure that there is oil pressure immediately on initial start up and will prevent engine damage.
6. Lubricate drive and driven rotors with clean engine oil.
7. Install oil pump gerotor cover bolts.

   Torque: 

   Oil Pump Gerotor Cover Bolts - L61: 6 N.m (53 in-lbs)

   NOTE: Front cover damage and engine damage will result if gerotor gears are not properly installed into front cover.
8. Install gear with groove in gear aligning with race in front cover.
9. Install gerotor cover and bolts.

Torque: 

Oil Pump Gerotor Cover Bolts - L61: 6 N.m (53 in-lbs)
