Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Adjustments

TRANSAXLE RANGE SWITCH ADJUSTMENT

^ TOOLS REQUIRED
- J 45404 Transaxle Range Switch Alignment





1. Shift transaxle into N (Neutral) position.
2. Remove control cable assembly from transaxle range switch lever.
3. Loosen transaxle range switch bolts.





4. Install Transaxle Range Switch Alignment J45404 and align the J45404 pointer to the neutral basic line.
5. Remove alignment tool.





6. Tighten transaxle range switch bolts.
Torque: Transaxle Range Switch Bolts: 20 - 29 N.m (15 - 21 ft. lbs.)
7. After adjusting switch, verify engine only starts in P (Park) or N (Neutral). If engine starts in any other position, readjust switch.
