Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Pontiac G5 and 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
    IMPORTANT: A new sunroof module assembly does not include the sunroof window or the sunshade as components. You must install the old sunroof window and sunshade to the new sunroof module assembly.

  1. Remove the sunshade panel. Refer to Sunroof Sunshade Replacement .
  2. Remove the sunroof window. Refer to Sunroof Window Replacement .
  3. It is only necessary to lower the headliner. Only do those step in headliner replacement that will lower the headliner enough to gain access to the part. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement .
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector on the sunroof actuator.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the sunroof module.

  7. Disconnect the front and rear drain hoses (1) from the drain spouts on the sunroof module.
  8. IMPORTANT: Remove the 2 center nuts last in order to help support the sunroof module to the roof ring.
  9. Remove the sunroof module nuts (2) from the roof.
  10. Remove the center nuts from the sunroof module.
  11. With the aid of an assistant, lower and remove the sunroof module assembly out through the passenger side door.
