Shift Control Replacement

Removal Procedure
1. Remove the console.





2. Using a screwdriver, disconnect the control cable end from the pin on the control assembly.
3. Remove the control cable retaining clip.
4. Depress the tabs on the control cable and remove the cable from the control assembly.





5. Disconnect the control assembly electrical connectors.





6. Remove the control assembly-to-floor pan bolts and remove the control assembly.
7. If the shift control assembly is being replaced, transfer the parts as needed.

Installation Procedure






Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

1. Install the control assembly into the vehicle and install the control assembly-to-floor pan bolts.
Tighten the control assembly-to-floor pan bolts to 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.).





2. Connect the control assembly electrical connectors.





3. Connect the control cable to the pin on the control assembly.
4. Secure the control cable into the control assembly by pushing into place.
5. Install the control cable retaining clip.
6. Install the console.
