Removal Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Saturn Ion Red Line, 2004 Saturn Ion 3, 2004 Saturn Ion 2, and 2004 Saturn Ion 1. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Remove the sunshade panel. Refer to Sunroof Sunshade Panel Replacement .
- Remove the sunroof window. Refer to Sunroof Window Replacement .
- Remove the headliner. Refer to Headliner Replacement (w/ Sunroof) or Headliner Replacement (w/o Sunroof) in Interior Trim.
- Disconnect the electrical connector on the sunroof actuator.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the sunroof module.
- Disconnect the drain hoses from the drain spouts on the front sunroof.
- Disconnect the drain hoses from the drain spouts on the rear sunroof module.
- Remove the bolts that secure the sunroof module to the roof.
- Remove the 2 bolts that secure the sunroof to the roof ring.
- With an assistant, lower and remove the sunroof module assembly out through the passenger side door.
IMPORTANT:
A new sunroof module assembly does not include the sunroof window or the sunshade as components. You must install the old sunroof window and sunshade to the new sunroof module assembly.
IMPORTANT:
Remove the 2 center bolts last in order to help support the sunroof module to the roof ring.
