Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Removing Generator Mounting Nuts And Bolts (3.5L)

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Install the generator.

    Tighten: 

    • Tighten the bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
    • Tighten the nuts to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).

  2. Connect the generator battery positive terminal (1).
  3. Connect the regulator electrical connector (2).
  4. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 3.5L.
  5. Position the engine into the normal location and install the engine mount strut bolts. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Left and Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Right in Engine Mechanical - 3.5L.
  6. Connect the windshield wiper transmission. Refer to Wiper Motor Module Replacement in Wiper/Washer Systems.
  7. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure .
