Installation Procedure

  1. Install the generator bracket.
  2. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Install the generator bracket bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts in sequence to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  5. Install the drive belt tensioner.
  6. Install the drive belt tensioner bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  7. Install the drive belt idler pulley.
  8. Install the drive belt idler pulley bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  10. Install the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement (L61)  or Generator Replacement (LX9) .
  11. Rotate the drive belt tensioner counterclockwise.
  12. Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 3.5L (LX9).
  13. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure .
