Removal Procedure

NOTE: Use care when handling the coolant sensor. Damage to the coolant sensor will affect the operation of the fuel control system.

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill LX9) or Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill LZ9) or Cooling System Draining and Filling (Vac-N-Fill) .
  2. Remove the intake manifold cover, if necessary. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement .
  3. Remove the exhaust crossover pipe. Refer to Exhaust Crossover Pipe Replacement (RPO LX9) or Exhaust Crossover Pipe Replacement (RPO LZ9) .
  4. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor electrical connector.
  5. Remove the ECT sensor.
