Installation Procedure

Clean the sealing surface of the BPMV, with denatured alcohol and a clean shop cloth.
Install the EBCM (1) to the BPMV (2). Use care when aligning the EBCM (1) to the BPMV electrical terminals (3).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Install the 4 EBCM-to-BPMV retaining bolts (1). Tighten the bolts in a criss-cross pattern.
Tighten: Tighten the bolts to 3 N.m (27 lb in).

Connect the electrical connector to the EBCM.
If installing a replacement module, program the replacement module. Refer to Control Module References .
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. DO NOT start engine.
Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle .
