Program Transponder and Remote Key
IMPORTANT:
This procedure requires that the security code be entered during step 4. The security code can be found in VIS in the key code information under the Immo Code column. Accessing key code information restricted and not all individuals will have access. If you do not have access, refer to your service director or parts department.
This procedure will learn remote keys and number them in the order in which they are programmed. The first remote key to be programmed will become remote key #1, the second remote key to be programmed will become remote key #2, and so on. If adding a remote key to an existing vehicle, the remote key being programmed will be programmed to the next available slot. Up to five remote keys may be programmed to a single vehicle.
- Connect a scan tool to the vehicle in the pass-thru arrangement and navigate to the scan tool start screen.
- Ignition ON, select Security Access (Security) on the Techline Terminal and follow the on-screen instructions. This will allow security access to the CIM.
- With the scan tool, navigate to the Programming selection in the Steering Column Module (CIM) menu.
- Select Program Transponder & Remote Keys and follow the on screen instructions.
