Air Spring Replacement

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
Fastener Tightening Specifications:  Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications .Tool Required: J 24319-B  Steering Linkage Puller

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Depressurize the air suspension. Refer to Air Suspension Depressurization .
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  3. Remove the rear tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  4. Remove the rear leveling sensor link from the control arm. Refer to Air Spring Leveling Sensor Replacement .
  5. Place a suitable support under the control arm.
  6. Pressurize the air suspension system after the repair has been completed. Refer to Air Suspension Pressurization .
1 Rear Adjusting Link Nut

Tighten:  30 N.m (22 lb ft) plus an additional 180°.

2 Rear Adjusting Link
Tip:  Use the J 24319-B  to remove the adjusting link from the control arm.
3 Rear Shock Bolt (Qty: 2)

Tighten:  25 N.m (18 lb ft)

4 Rear Suspension Air Spring
Tip: 
  1. Disconnect the air supply line at the air spring.
  2. Lower the control arm to remove the air spring.
