Instrument Panel Inflatable Restraint Module Replacement (Solstice)

WARNING: Refer to SIR Warning .
Preliminary Procedure: Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
1 Inflatable Restraint Instrument Panel (I/P) Module Bolt/Screw (Qty: 2)
CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Procedure

  1. Open the I/P storage compartment to access the inflator bolts.
  2. If a gap condition exists, DO NOT replace the module.

    This is an appearance issue only and has no effect on air bag performance.

    1. Gently pry the cover up to expose the deformed snap tab.
    2. Use a nylon trim tool to deflect the snap to engage the trim edge.
    3. Press down on the cover to seat.

Tighten:  10 N.m (89 lb in)

2 Inflatable Restraint I/P Module Assembly
