Section 939 (Lighting System): Precaution

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 Scion xB. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. PRECAUTION FOR HEADLIGHT BULB REPLACEMENT
    1. If the surface halogen lamp (headlamp) is coated with oil, lamp service life is shortened because of the heat generated when the lamp is on.
    2. Since the internal pressure of the halogen lamp bulb (headlamp) is high, handle carefully. It may explode if dropped.
    3. Try not to touch the lens with your fingers when changing the lamp because it could result in a dirty or moist lens. Always have the replacement bulb prepared before starting the installation.
    4. Always replace the bulb with one of the same wattage.
    5. In order to avoid a cloudy lens or water.
    6. In order to avoid a cloudy lens or leakage, firmly reinstall the socket after bulb replacement.
