System Description
- POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The power window control system controls the power window up/down function using the regulator motors.
The main controls of this system are the power window regulator master switch, which is built into the driver side door, and the power window regulator switch, which is built into the passenger side door. Pressing the regulator switch or any of the switches on the master switch transmits an UP/DOWN signal to the corresponding power window regulator motor.
- FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENT
The power window control system consists of the following components.
Component Outline Power Window Regulator Master Switch Assembly - Controls window operations for all the windows.
- When the window lock switch is set to the lock position, window operation is only possible with the master switch.
Power Window Regulator Switch Assembly - Located on the passenger side door.
- The regulator switch controls window operations for its respective window.
Power Window Regulator Motor Assembly Receives switch signals and activates the motor to change the window position. - SYSTEM FUNCTION
The power window control system has the following functions.
Function Outline Manual up-and-down function - Driver side power window:
Function that raises the window while the power window switch is pulled up, and lowers the window while pushed halfway down (the window stops as soon as the switch is released).
- Passenger side power window:
Function that raises the window while the power window switch is pulled up, and lowers the window while pushed down (the window stops as soon as the switch is released).
AUTO down function Function that enables the driver side door window to be fully opened by one full push downward on the power window switch. Remote control function Function that allows the power window master switch to control manual up-and-down operation of the passenger side power window. Key-off operation function - Function that makes it possible to operate all the power windows for approximately 43 seconds after the ignition switch is turned off and the driver side door and passenger side door have not been opened.
- If 43 seconds have passed or the driver side door or passenger side door is opened while the manual function is operating, window operation stops.
Window lock function - Function where passenger side power window operation is disabled when the window lock switch of the master switch is pressed.
- The passenger side power window can be operated when the window lock switch is pressed again.
